A crack inspection squad will visit Eastbourne pubs, clubs and late-night eateries to ensure they are not breaking the rules.
In the coming months, establishments face checks at least once a week.
The team will ensure they have reasonable noise levels, close at the right times, comply with licence conditions and have properly registered door staff.
They will also look out for dog owners who don't clean up after their pets on seafront streets and in the town centre.
Eastbourne Borough Council leader Graham Marsden said: "While we want residents and visitors to make the most of the range of pubs and clubs available. It's important those places are properly managed."
The team will be able to respond to out-of-hours complaints by serving noise nuisance orders.
In all cases, evidence will be collected and used to caution or prosecute offenders.
