Three requests in two days for cheaper housing (August 24 and 25). Fair enough.

But a previous letter clearly pointed out if developers are required to provide some cheaper units they will simply increase the price for the rest of them.

There is a need for clearer thinking by Councillors Tehmtan Framroze, Steve Fuller and the rest.

More houses of whatever kind will create more waste (each household produces one tonne of rubbish a year), more traffic, more pressure on hospitals and emergency services and, above all, more school places, which will defeat the sale of land by Varndean College to build more houses.

They will create their own future problems when there is no more land to be sold. Planning consent must be refused.
