A security guard who went missing three weeks ago may have returned to his favourite holiday spots in Brighton and Hastings.

Police are appealing for help in finding John Edwards, 51, who disappeared from his home in Chatham, Kent, after a domestic argument.

There are fears for Mr Edwards' health since he did not take any medication with him, which he needs to combat serious heart problems.

His family have been left devastated by Mr Edwards' disappearance. He has been happily married for 27 years with three grown-up children.

His wife Betsy, 49, said: "I am so worried about his health. He had lots of financial worries and seemed like he was on the edge of a nervous breakdown. Sometimes he used to say I would be better-off with him out of the way."

Mrs Edwards returned to Brighton and Hove at the weekend to visit a few of the hotels the couple had stayed in over the years but there was no sign of her husband.

Mr Edwards is 5ft 9in, of heavy build, with brown hair and a brown birthmark on the left side of his neck.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kent Police on 01634 884252 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
