It is so boring to read Lord Bassam's reasons why an elected mayor is good for Brighton and Hove.
If, by a strange coincidence, Lord Bassam should be elected, surely that is soon enough for him to be heard.
Most of us remember the good old days when Brighton really was the Place To Be, those happy days BB - before Bassam. Sadly, our city has slowly gone downhill for the past decade.
Apart from the dirt and filth everywhere, care homes for the elderly are closing at an alarming rate and homelessness is at an all-time high.
Before we can afford the luxury of an elected mayor, there are matters that should be corrected before surplus money is creamed off on Lord Bassam's various schemes.
Not one of his plans includes matters that would improve the quality of life for average folk.
It will be a sad day for our city if Lord Bassam is allowed to reign supreme.
