So now we know. The Tories believe the answer to Brighton and Hove's housing problems lies not in providing more affordable social housing but in loft conversions for council houses.
In the recent council debate on the Local Plan, I was shocked to hear the Tories arguing against the level of provision for low-cost housing proposed in the plan.
Now, a few weeks later, Councillor Mark Barnard has the answer (August 30). He's decided we should live in the loft.
