Police have warned a fake soccer scout could be trying to lure youngsters to secluded places.
The warning comes after two boys were approached by a man as they played in Highdown Close, Shoreham.
He told them he was a soccer scout and asked them to meet him in fields behind Highdown Close later in the day.
He said he would give them tips to improve their football skills.
The boys told their parents, who told the police.
The man who approached them was in his 40s, 5ft 10in tall, had a moustache and was wearing a navy blue LA Lakers baseball cap.
He also wore a navy blue jumper with a frog design and grey pinstriped trousers.
Inspector Chris Drew of Shoreham police said: "Parents should be aware that a man who describes himself as a football scout has been approaching children in the area.
"Under no circumstances should they agree to meet anyone in an isolated place without being accompanied by a parent or an adult they know."
