I sympathise totally with the points raised by Ken Norman (September 4).

A lot is made of travellers' rights, residents' rights, money and resources required to clean up after the travellers.

The Green Ridge occupants have stated they do not wish to move on and openly admitted to either being on benefit or working in the area.

Fine, then let them pay some community charge.

Brighton and Hove City Council should levy and collect at band D level the moment the travellers set up site.

You may find them less keen to descend on our fair city if required to conform financially. Let them pay their way as well as the rest of us.
