Worthing Council will spend more than £10,000 kitting out councillors with laptop computers if plans are approved.
Seven senior members of the borough council are in line to receive the computers, which would give internet access.
The cost of the computers with software and extras, such as carrying cases, would be £10,010. They would be given to the council's executive members.
The decision whether or not to buy the equipment will be taken by executive councillor Steven Waight on Wednesday.
