I was very interested in Roger French's points (Letters, September 3).
If a directly-elected mayor is going to solve most of our problems, let's have, say, three elected mayors who can then sort out all problems between them.
Then we could get rid of the 70-odd councillors and save millions on their expenses.
How about that, Roger?
