Are traffic wardens and Brighton and Hove City Council above the law? It would seem so.

A relative of mine works for a government organisation which requires her and her colleagues to make daily visits to tenants on behalf of the social services.

Brighton police have issued all the government office personnel with parking permits, allowing parking in restricted zones of up to half-an-hour.

It would seem these signed parking permits are regarded as invalid by traffic wardens and the council officials, as several parking tickets have been issued to my relative and her colleagues when going about their lawful duty.

The council and NCP, who monitor the traffic wardens, would therefore seem to place themselves above the law. Either that or Brighton police have no real power.

When is this nonsense going to stop?
