Peacehaven has been waiting 30 years for its new secondary school and is proud of the new building which has just opened.
Thanks are due to the parents and local politicians who campaigned so long and hard for the school.
Their pressure eventually persuaded the Government to have the school built under the Private Finance Initiative.
It remains to be seen how this new method of financing works out.
Already demand is so high there is pressure for the school to be expanded for more pupils from one of the few coastal areas that is still growing.
Let's hope Peacehaven doesn't have to wait another 30 years for the expansion of the school to be completed.
