Thank you for the sponsorship of the Battle of Britain Air Show last weekend.
I went on the Sunday and had a thoroughly enjoyable time, even though the weather could have been a bit brighter.
The flying display was of the usual high standard and I am sure all the participants enjoyed themselves.
One thing marred the proceedings - the sea of litter left by certain visitors.
It was as if the litter bins and skips were put there for decoration. Perhaps, when children return to school this week, things may get better - but I doubt it.
Is there not a case for local authorities to request school head teachers to draw the evils of litter-dropping to their charges, perhaps at the daily assembly, if one is still held?
I do hope the Royal Air Force Association benefited quite substantially from this event. It would be interesting to have the figure.
