Former world champion boxer Chris Eubank came face to face with Michael Watson ten years after the fight which left his opponent with severe brain damage.
The first public encounter since the night which changed both men's lives was filmed for a documentary.
The BBC programme includes interviews with Eubank, who lives in Hove, Watson, his friends and family, the surgeon who treated him and referee Roy Francis, who talks about the fight for the first time.
In the documentary, called Fighting Back - The Michael Watson Story, Eubank admits he was outfought on the night and his only goal was to walk out of there on his feet.
Of the outcome of the fight on September 23, 1991, he said: "I had maimed somebody's son.
"That wasn't good - that wasn't good for me."
Watson was less than four minutes away from taking the world title until 20 seconds from the end of the 11th round Eubank caught him with an uppercut.
Watson fell, caught his head on the ropes and was eventually left with severe brain damage.
The documentary will be shown on BBC2 on September 23 at 9pm.
