Sussex have brought Bas Zuiderent back into the team for today's crucial Championship match against Gloucestershire.
Matt Prior, an ever present in the side this season, has been left out. Tim Ambrose, who made a half-century in the promotion-clinching draw against Warwickshire on Monday, will keep wicket.
Coach Peter Moores said: "It's horses for courses really, we are playing what we think is our strongest side for this match.
"Matt has had a long season which is starting to catch up on him a bit while Tim is fresh and on a high after scoring 50 at Edgbaston. Bas got runs in the seconds yesterday and obviously it does strengthen our batting."
Sussex are already assured of runners-up spot and go into the final game with a six point lead over Hampshire who are away to Nottinghamshire.
If Hampshire were to win Sussex would also need a victory over a Gloucestershire side scrambling with Warwickshire and Middlesex to fill the third promotion place.
Sussex lost by ten wickets at Cheltenham in July, but Jeremy Snape and Chris Taylor, who both scored centuries in that game, are missing from the visitors' line-up because of injury. Australian Ian Harvey may only be able to play as a batsman because of injury but former England left-armer Mike Smith is poised to make only his second Championship appearance of the season.
Sussex (probable): Montgomerie, Goodwin, Adams, Zuiderent, Yardy, Ambrose, Martin-Jenkins, Davis, Kirtley, Lewry, Robinson.
