The new season has barely kicked off and rather like the professional game, everyone is bleating about the standards of refereeing.
For example the Seaford U-12 scribe writes: "Unfortunately there was a bad taste left in the mouth by the refereeing. The first three goals Seaford conceded were clearly offside, but with the linesmen operating on the wrong wings they were all allowed to stand and Seaford knew they were up against it, with their backs firmly pinned against the wall."
For the record Seaford lost 20-0! Park Life firmly believes that controversy in amateur football over offside decisions and alike is inevitable. Or as the reporters at those downmarket Sussex rags would say: 'Part and parcel of the game'.
We have been inundated with reports whining about the standards of refereeing. Unlike their contemporaries in the Premiership, these men get paid next to nothing and it is a good job they do so freely otherwise players might as well not bother getting out of bed.
