Burgess Hill maintained top spot in division one after hanging on for a draw away to second placed Pagham.

Hillians led twice through Ashley Carr and Lee Isaac but were grateful to a number of fine saves from Pat Gannon.

Pagham boss Richie Reynolds said: "We had 11 players unavailable. We had a patched up side but we annihilated them.

"The problem is we are coming up against a lot of good goalkeepers."

Burgess Hill manager Gary Croydon said: "I thought we were fortunate to get a 2-2 draw. Pagham played well and just edged it."

Tony Stephens and Julian Curnow were on target for the home side.

Sidley's home match was postponed at the request of visitors Three Bridges, who said a number of their players had been called in to work extra hours at Gatwick Airport.

Karim Djelassi scored a late winner for Whitehawk at Redhill. The only goal came three minutes from time when John Byrne and Josh Christison combined to set up Djelassi who headed home via the crossbar.

A tight contest came to life in the closing stages with Redhill's Germain Amanuel and Hawks' Ollie Rowland both having chances to score but Djelassi struck.

Joint boss Glenn Burvill said: "We have two wins on the spin and it is looking good."

Wick were three down in ten minutes at lowly Saltdean but fought back after the break to win 5-3.

Lee Weston hit two in his first game on loan from Worthing and fellow winger Gareth Green was also on target.

There were goals too for Richie Phillips and Nick Loversidge as Wick created a host of chances.

Their boss Carl Stabler admitted: "Our defending was awful at the start and we showed a lack of respect for the opposition but we played some good football eventually."

James Fensome and Ian Costello (2) gave Tigers their early lead.

Scott French and Jon Neal were the scorers as Hailsham won 2-0 at Arundel.

French converted a cross from Martin Richardson for the opener on 33 minutes and Neal buried a left-foot piledriver to seal victory midway through the second half.

Manager Mark Leaney said: "We played very well and could have scored a lot more goals."

Victory celebrations were tempered by an injury to the influential Steve March, who could be sidelined for several weeks with an ankle ligament problem.

Sean Randell scored his tenth goal of the season as Ringmer won 2-0 at home to Southwick.

Randell was brought down for a penalty which he converted himself and Kevin Townsend scored a second after the interval.

Manager Glen Geard, who was pleased with the debut of Lee Cox, said: "Sean's on fire at the moment. We totally dominated the game from start to finish and could have won by four or five quite comfortably."

Sidlesham kept their first cleansheet of the season at home to Eastbourne United but boss Richard Towers insisted: "It was two points dropped."

It finished goalless although Towers insisted Matt Taylor's 80th minute free-kick crossed the line before being cleared.
