I have lived in Brighton and Hove for more than years and, although it has been said that it's the place to be, I have been very lonely.
I find it hard to walk into places on my own, which makes it difficult to meet people, even though I'm a reasonably friendly person.
Last Monday, I went to the King Alfred Centre to an over-50s fun and exercise session with a friend. I'm a young over-50 and didn't know if it would be for me but I'm so glad I went. It cost only £1.50 for a 10am-to-noon session and I probably laughed and enjoyed myself more in those two hours than I have done in a long time.
It's a small group at the moment but, if you are an over-50, I thoroughly recommend it.
