Hastings Town striker Chris Honey returned from holiday into a battle to get his first team place back.
In his absence, manager George Wakeling has re-signed Lee McRobert from Dover and the experienced frontman has made an instant impact alongside top scorer Paul Jones.
Wakeling said: "We are quite happy. Everybody is working hard and hoping to do well.
The club have shown a lot of faith in letting me bring in McRobert and he is settling back in well."
McRobert scored in Town's 2-0 home win over Bashley in midweek. Wakeling said: "Chris has picked up from where he left off since he has come back from holiday.
He scored twice in the last reserve game. But the team is doing well and no one can expect just to walk into the team.
Chris will just have to wait for his chance to get back."
The boss then praised Jones. He said: "Paul is playing the best football ever as far as I am concerned.
He has been excellent." St Leonards manager Micky Taylor is ready to shake-up his squad after two successive defeats.
The Saints boss is unhappy after his side lost 3-0 at home to Burnham last weekend and suffered a 1-0 midweek reverse at Dorchester.
Taylor said: "The chemistry is not right and it's my job to sort it out. If getting rid of people and bringing others in will improve results then that's what I have to do.
It is not a threat to the footballers here, but I wouldn't be doing my job properly otherwise."
But the Saints manager was adamant that the team were not heading into freefall.
He said: "I want to categorically state that the wheels are not coming off the bus, no way.
"The performance on Tuesday night in Dorcester proved that. "They were the best team we have played this season and we were unlucky not to get something out of the game."
Saints' FA Cup first round qualifying tie at home BAT Sports has been delayed until tomorrow to avoid clashing with Hastings' Pilot Field clash against Chichester today.
Taylor is not complaining. He said: "It gives us an extra day's rest and the boys are all confident."
