Eastbourne Borough boss Garry Wilson was full of praise for his side after they bounced back in midweek from last Saturday's defeat by Histon.
The joint-favourites for the Dr Martens League Eastern Division title remain Borough's bogey side after they left Priory Lane with a 3-0 win safely in the bag and their fourth victory over Wilson's side in as many meetings.
Wilson said: "It was a disappointing result. We played about as poorly as we could and they played about as well as they could.
"However, we were without our keeper Dean Lightwood, Nathan Godden, Ben Austin and Steve Willard and it showed at times."
Wilson stuck with the same side for the trip to Dartford on Tuesday night and despite trailing 1-0 at one stage, the players responded well to the setback and grabbed all three points with a 2-1 victory.
"It was an excellent win. The players showed plenty of guts and spirit to come back from 1-0 down and get the victory."
Godden, who has just finished a suspension, and Willard were back in contention for a starting place today when Borough entertained Whyteleafe in the FA Cup first qualifying round.
Striker Matt Allen was also expected to be pushing for a place as he returns to full fitness after a stalled start to the season.
Influential defender Austin, however, was rated as doubtful with a continuing back problem.
A good cup run is a clear objective of the Priory Lane club and Wilson.
He said: "It matters to any club financially now but I don't think that gets to the players.
They just want to get as far as they can and it is a matter of pride."
There was good news for the club off the pitch this week.
The club have been given the go ahead by the Borough Council to continue with plans to extend the main stand at Priory Lane.
The council has granted permission for the stand to be extended and the building of a new hospitality suite, press and announcer's box and toilet block, according to the club's website, eastbourneboroughfc.co.uk Borough, however, will have to maintain a traffic management scheme.
