The writing is on the wall for traditional sign makers as digital technology speeds up old trade.
Hove-based signage company Fastsigns has upgraded its existing software with digital and e-commerce technology developed its headquarters in the United States.
Hove is the first of 15 Fastsigns branches in the UK to have the software installed.
The digital design tools aim to accelerate the production of signs, banners, vehicle graphics and exhibition stand displays and improve the buying process for the customer.
Owner Mike Heath said: "The changes will make everything we do easier and quicker. We already have a great creative team here using a range of technologies.
These new tools will enable to deliver an even higher quality service faster."
Fastsigns has also upgraded its web site complement the roll out of the software across the UK and Hove is the first store to be fully compatible with the site's new functions.
Mr Heath said: "The improved site has expanded e-commerce services, a store locator and can handle the transfer of large graphic files.
Our customers can now send their logos and artwork securely by file transfer protocol (FTP) without time delay or the expense of posting a disc.
This also eliminates technical glitches associated withattaching graphics to emails."
The Hove company has produced signage for American Express, Sussex University and Brighton and Hove City Council.
