Sussex Enterprise is offering help for firms affected by the attacks in New York.
Businesses across the county can turn to the business organisation for advice on issues like shipping and overseas trading.
Director of policy Mark Froud said: "Although we believe the UK economy is sound, there are concerns about short-term problems with overseas trading and the knock-on effects for many businesses in Sussex.
"Some firms will now face inevitable delays checking goods through Customs and business people will be unsure of whether to travel abroad."
Mr Froud wants companies experiencing any problems because of attacks to contact the group so an up-to-date guide for businesses planning future operations can be formed.
Sussex Enterprise also plans to lobby the Government to provide help for any businesses affected.
Contact the group on its free helpline number 0845 6788867 or by emailing help@sussexenterprise.co.uk
