At last, a first rate MP3 player that has all the whistles and bells associated with much more expensive units at a fraction of the price.
The Waitec Havin is lightweight and yet seems robust enough to stay the course.
It includes navigation software and searching capabilities and enables the user to obtain the track title, artist and music category and display them all simultaneously.
The player uses rechargeable batteries that last up to ten hours and incorporates a current adapter and battery recharger.
Comfortable headphones and a rather dinky hand-held manual/ remote control unit are also included.
The anti-shock system guarantees 240 seconds of uninterrupted play in the MP3 format and 40 seconds in digital audio.
We took the unit for a test drive cross country in a LandRover and it worked for us.
With a rather retrolooking, full graphic, indigo blue LCD display, the player delivered 16 by 4 character track information, very useful if you want to use the player in conjunction with a hi-fi and don't want to guess what is coming next.
The Havin supports enhanced CD, CD-ROM XA and multi-session CD and comes with software to cut and edit tracks on a PC.
Great value for money, it looks pretty cool too.
