A new washing machine, hailed as revolutionary by manufacturers, goes on sale today.
The British-designed Titan washing machine, built in Stratford-upon-Avon, has a removable tub, holds more clothes and can be opened halfway through a cycle to add forgotten items.
Inventor Martin Myerscough said: "The launch of Titan signals many things.
"It's not just about bigger loads and the end of washday blues.
"Titan represents a vote of faith in British innovation, design and manufacturing."
The new-style machine is being put on sale by manufacturers, Monotub Industries.
It is seen as the first major overhaul of the domestic washing machine in 30 years.
It is hoped the machine will do as much for Mr Myerscough as the bagless Dyson vacuum cleaner has done for its inventor, the entrepreneur James Dyson.
