I have recently been surprised by some quotations from Nostradamus circulating on the internet. At best, they are inaccurate but, in my opinion, they are mainly plain wrong.

Nostradamus wrote in Quatrain 70 CVIII: "He will enter, villainous, wicked, infamous, tyrannising Mesopotamia. All friends made of the adulterous woman, Land horrible and blackened." Could this refer to the burned land of Kuwait and the villain Saddam Hussein?

Nostradamus also wrote: "The celestial arrow will travel its path. Death while people are speaking and execution of many. The stone trees of that proud nation brought down. The monster will be purged, he will pay the penalty."

What better way to describe the skyline of Manhattan than stone trees and the plane crash into the World Trade Centre as a celestial arrow?

The problem with Nostradamus is he was deliberately vague. His predictions for the future include a possible Arab uprising in France very soon. We will see.
