Ninety technology jobs are coming to Crawley following the reorganisation of aerospace innovators Thales.
The French firm is transferring staff to its factory in Manor Royal Industrial Estate, Newton Road, following the closure of its manufacturing facility in Berkshire.
They will be involved in the production of military surveillance equipment and flight simulators.
Thales, formerly known as Thomson CSF, specialises in aerospace, defence and information technology and employs more than 15,000 people at 70 locations in the UK. The decision to reorganise the group's defence communications business comes after Thales failed to win a £1.7 billion contract for Army radios.
Thales said efforts would be made to redeploy as many of the 470 staff at Bracknell as possible. They include research and development staff and manufacturing personnel.
Thales said it remained committed to its UK operations, boosted recently by orders covering sonars, missile systems, electronic warfare and IT services.
