Photographs taken by residents of a fight on a railway track are being studied by police.
People living near Shoreham station took the pictures as a fight involving 20 people broke out.
Police are also examining CCTV footage in a bid to identify those involved.
Inspector Chris Drew, of Shoreham police, said: "We had a number of calls about this incident.
"A large group of youths was involved in a fight in Buckingham Road, on the station and on the railway track. It is extremely dangerous to go anywhere near the track, let alone get involved in a fight on the railway line.
"Residents took pictures of the incident, which we are studying to see if we can identify any of those involved."
Insp Drew appealed for witnesses to the incident, which took place on Saturday, September 22, at 10.30pm, to call Shoreham police on 0845 6070999.
