Worthing will hope to christen their new pitch with a win against Gillingham Anchorians in the Kent/Sussex Regional League tomorrow.
A council funded £250,000 astro pitch has been laid at Durrington Leisure Centre during the summer and Worthing are hoping the new surface will boost their return to this level.
Promoted as champions of Kent/Sussex Division One, skipper Simon Holloway is in buoyant mood about the season ahead.
He said: "The new pitch is a bit like Milton Keynes. It has got a brilliant watering system."
There are new faces too. Matt Ansell and Dave Clanger have arrived from relegated Middleton and Bognor and Mark Minchell is back at the club after taking a few seasons out.
Holloway said: "Ideally it would be nice to come in the top three but realistically what we are looking to achieve is to retain our position in this league."
Crawley entertain Brighton tomorrow and both will have new look sides.
Crawley are now coached by ace striker Terry Higgs and they will be fielding a young side following a summer exodus of players which included Jamie Westwood and Phil Butcher.
They have joined Brighton along with Dave Delea, who is back from Lewes, and Simon Acott, who played for Saxons last season.
Brighton twins Barry-Jack and Terry-Alan Toohey, have returned to Australia while youngsters Steve Edmonds and Barney Stubbs have gone to National League club Lewes.
New Horsham captain Mark Ansell misses his side's game at Ashford with an ankle ligament problem. Ansell has taken over from Neil Burlinson.
Mid Sussex begin at Old Williamsonians.
In Kent/Sussex Division One, Eastbourne and relegated Middleton and Bognor both have new captains. Tony Hayes has taken charge at Eastbourne from James Mackay, who hands over responsibility after three years in charge.
Simon Morgan is the new man at M&B.
Phil Newington leads Crowborough into action at Old Bordenians following their promotion from the Sussex Open League.
Andy Barnes will no longer be coaching the Chichester 1st XI following a difference of opinion and Neil Pendle takes over.
Barnes will continue to coach some of Chichester's other teams but will also be working with Horsham and National League side East Grinstead, where he will assist new player-coach Ian Pattison.
Grinstead begin their National League division two campaign away to Belper on Sunday while Chicheser take on Beckenham in the Southern Premier tomorrow.
