I have just been discharged after spending two weeks in the Elton John ward at Brighton General Hospital.
This was the first time I had been in this hospital and I was a little nervous about going because I usually go to a big London teaching hospital.
I need not have worried. The Elton John ward is one of the best I have been in. I can give only full praise to the doctors and nurses. The ward is friendly and you are given full information about what is going to happen to you. The relaxed atmosphere helps with recovery. While I was in the ward, I saw all three consultants attached to it and they were the most helpful doctors I have known. They spoke with me, not at me.
I must thank Steve, the cleaner, not only for keeping my room clean but for making me endless cups of tea. There is teamwork on that ward from the ward manager to Steve - they all treat you the same. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
