Motorcross ace Danny Smyth finished the British Fourstroke Championship on a winning note.
In the final round of the series Smyth claimed an exciting victory which meant he finished fourth overall.
The season was late in starting due to the foot and mouth crisis earlier in the year and a number of rounds were lost because of the problem.
Smyth, 25, from Scaynes Hill, said: "It wasn't too bad considering what a year we have had.
"I won the last race and it was good to finish the season on a winning note.
"In race two the startgate didn't drop for Jody (Danny's brother) and me, but they didn't stop the race. That might we had to fight our way through the traffic.
"I wanted to come in the top three this season and if the startgate had dropped in the second race I might have done it because I finished the year only two points behind the third placed man."
Younger brother Jody Smyth, 21, finished two places behind Danny in the championship, in sixth place.
Danny said: "Jody is really chuffed because he is on a smaller bike than everyone else. He is only riding a 250 fourstroke, which is about half the power of what I am on."
The brothers have one more round of the British Open Championship to come. Danny is currently in 14th place in the Open class while Jody is ninth in the 125. That round will take part at Devon next month.
A week after that the brothers embark on a new venture when they travel to Ireland to compete indoors in the first round of the UK Indoor Supercross series.
There are five rounds of that competition with visits to London Arena, the NEC in Birmingham and Exeter also on the calendar.
