Sidley boss Peter Heritage came off the bench and grabbed a late goal to keep the champions firmly on course for another successful season.
Heritage fired in from the edge of the area to clinch a 2-1 home win over battling Wick.
It was the veteran goalgetter's first of the season and he said: "I let the young lads do the running, then come on when the game slows down."
Sidley were given a severe test after going ahead through Peter Baker penalty. Gareth Green levelled and Wick could consider themselves unlucky to lose.
Heritage said: "We had a go at them after the game because we can only get away with performances like that for so long. But that's ten unbeaten now."
Selsey's fine away form continued with an eyecatching 4-1 success at Ringmer.
Ian Ford, in for the injured Paul Lee, scored a hat-trick and boss Danny Hinshelwood said: "That shows our strength in depth.
"I'm not going to go overboard about it because football can kick you in the teeth but you don't win 4-1 away just through luck."
Stuart Morey hit the opener and Lee Stevens had a hand in a couple of the goals. Sean Randell converted a penalty for Ringmer.
Teenager Tom Levitt hit his first senior goal to provide the highlight of Burgess Hill's impressive 4-0 win at Redhill.
Levitt replaced Phil Churchill, who had a hamstring strain, and produced a great finish, controlling Lee Isaac's cross and firing home on the turn. Isaac, Ashley Carr and Richard Carter were also on target.
Pagham continue to look strong. Paul Morby, Kevin Dewey, Steve Poulton and Tony Stephens wrapped up a 4-1 success at Eastbourne United, for whom Lawrence Dorman had opened the scoring.
Guy Rutherford joined Chichester on loan from Bognor and slid home the 88th-minute strike which clinched a 2-1 win at hard-working Saltdean.
Rutherford played in attack with Jamie Laidlaw, who was also on target before Bradley Dougal levelled.
Pat Massaro completed a hat-trick in Three Bridges' 5-0 home win over Littlehampton.
Marigolds were unlucky to go behind when Lee Hanson's cross flicked off a defender's head but Bridges impressed after the break.
Stuart Bone was on target after a fine move involving debutant Carlo Castrechini.
Mike Rowland's half-time team talk inspired a 3-1 win for Arundel at home to Whitehawk, who led at the break through Matt Pachent's header.
An own goal levelled matters, then Jimmy Hassler continued his fine form since moving from Oving with two quickfire strikes.
Rowland said: "They were both well taken. He's a strong lad and has settled in well."
Hailsham were five-up at the break at Sidlesham. John Neal hit a hat-trick with Stuart Lewis and West Tate also on target. Full-back Stuart MacIntosh replied from long range after the break.
