The Argus's reporting of last Sunday's peace protest was refreshing - such demonstrations are often ignored by the media.
However, Brighton and Hove City Council had done such a good job at hyping up the march and its expectation of violence it became big news when there was no trouble.
The organisers should be congratulated for standing up to this hype and intimidation.
Those that protested got soaked but gave an important message - that many of us do not want a war.
Particular praise should go to Councillor Keith Taylor, who was criticised by all and sundry in the run-up to the protest.
He is a rare specimen among elected politicians - someone who courageously sticks to his principles.
