How utterly sickening. The do-gooders and trendies are already saying that if Osama bin Laden is captured and brought to justice President Bush should promise he must not face the death penalty.

What has it to do with them? For heaven's sake, is political correctness even more important than what happened on September 11?

It is time for an end to the sanctimonious rubbish being written about Eastern perceptions of the Twin Towers being symbols of avarice and greed.

They enabled honest people to work hard for themselves and help others as well.

Meanwhile, what do the Taliban do to help their own people in Afghanistan? They leave them to starve to death in their mountains.

Who feeds these poor people? Mainly the US and the West, of course.

On a practical note, I have mentioned to my rifle and pistol club that, if we are involved in a long war, we may need a Home Guard even more than last time because of the many fifth-columnists likely to be here.

Riflemen may need to take a lead. Perhaps others may like to think along these lines.

I do not believe it will be all nuclear weapons and missiles, as the trendies have been foretelling for ages. If people like to call this Grand-dad's Army, so be it.
