Goalkeeper Steve Murphy scored a rare goal from a corner in his side's 13-0 win, but only after he missed a penalty moments earlier.
Steve, 22, scored Ferring Sunday's seventh goal, and his first ever goal from open play, against Mastic Athletic in the Worthing Trophyman Cup last weekend.
Six-footer Steve said: " We got a penalty and I offered to take it. If the game had been close I wouldn't have been allowed.
"It was a pretty lame shot which bounced twice before it got to their goalkeeper - I would definitely have saved it. Their keeper pushed it out and it was deflected out for a corner.
"I stayed up for the corner and when Scott Johnson swung over a lovely cross I just got my head to it at the back post. It was the first time I've headed the ball in recent memory.
"They all jumped on top of me after I scored. It hurt a bit having ten blokes sitting on you.
"Afterwards there was plenty of beer. And I told the lads that the goal was my excuse for missing the penalty. I was just setting up my header.
"If we are winning 10-0, or something in the future, then I will certainly go up for a corner again."
