Worthing boss Sammy Donnelly this week praised his team's supporters as an uneasy truce between manager and board broke out at Woodside Road.
The fans were out in force at Barking on Saturday and again on Tuesday when a 1-1 draw against Yeading made it four points from two tricky away tests.
Donnelly may have his critics in boardroom, but the supporters seem to be aware of the difficult circumstances he is operating in at the moment and have responded accordingly.
"The 300 we have regularly know the score and I have to say they have been absolutely magnificent," said Donnelly.
"They know that things are difficult but they are behind me and the players and we're very grateful for their support."
Spirit in the dressing room doesn't seem to be too bad either, despite the fact that Donnelly has had to release Damian Webber and Lee Cox and send Lee Weston out on loan. Other players have had to take pay cuts and the directors were due to meet the players on Thursday night to discuss the situation.
"I've just told the lads to stick together and go out and try and enjoy their football and take out any frustrations on the opposition," added Donnelly.
"I don't know what's going to happen in the future but for now we're doing quite well."
Donnelly was impressed with the performance of striker Gavin Jones on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old, signed from County League Worthing United, is a great prospect according to Donnelly.
"Gavin has come on leaps and bounds. There's a lot more to come from him."
With Danny Davis expected to be sidelined for three months after breaking his collar bone, Donnelly is hoping to add to his midfield resources by signing Keiron McCurdy from Lewes. He's made a seven-day approach.
Worthing play the Royal Engineers in a friendly at Woodside Road on Tuesday (7.30) as part of their centenary celebrations.
Their next league game is at home to Bishops Stortford next Saturday (3.00).
