A Sussex town mayor is to resume his duties after falling ill while on holiday in France.
David Fitton, 56, of Newhaven, has been told to take it easy after being taken into a French hospital with a suspected heart attack.
Tests showed it was not a coronary but further information is being sent over from France.
Coun Fitton, a horticultural expect, has already resumed his advice sessions at the garden section of The Paradise Park leisure complex and will be attending as many town council functions as possible.
He said: "I am on the mend. They were thorough at the French hospital and I am full of praise for their medical services."
