A husband and wife team of councillors have given up their seats after moving away from the town they represented for more than 20 years.
Mike Skinner represented Uckfield as a town, district and county councillor and as mayor. His wife, Gill, served on the district and town councils.
Now both have announced they are quitting Wealden District Council following Mr Skinner's decision to stand down as Uckfield mayor.
The couple's decision leaves two vacancies for Uckfield representatives on the district council.
The council is expected to announce the date for the by-elections on October 25. Nominations will be taken until the middle of November.
Mr Skinner and his family have moved to Leominster, Herefordshire, after selling their home in Ellis Road, Uckfield.
