Albion picked up four bookings in their 2-2 draw against AFC Bournemouth yesterday.
The Seagulls, playing in the immediate aftermath of Micky Adams' shock departure, lacked discipline in this Avon Insurance Combination clash at Lymington and New Milton's ground.
And referee Andy Wilkins had little option but to caution all four players - Robbie Pethick, Geoff Pitcher, Shaun Wilkinson and Dean Hammond.
Pethick was the first name to go into the book midway through the first half for a mistimed tackle on Bournemouth's Narada and Pitcher's followed soon after for dissent.
Wilkinson completed the hat-trick early in the second half for a rough challenge on Willie Huck.
Then substitute Hammond, who had only been on the pitch two minutes, was the fourth name to be noted for an unnecessary foul on James Ford.
It wasn't all one-way traffic though as Bournemouth players Warren Feeney and Michael Menetrier also picked up cautions.
In between the bookings, Albion and their south coast rivals played some neat football at times.
Wilkinson claimed the Seagulls' 26th minute opener after Menetrier, Bournemouth's goalkeeper, had spilled his low cross.
Sam Bennett levelled for Bournemouth, lobbing advancing Brighton keeper Will Packham from 20 yards, and trialist Tresor Kandol gave the home side a 47th-minute lead with a close range finish.
Andy Crosby converted a second half penalty to earn Brighton a point.
And they would have had all three but for Menetrier, who denied Wilkinson a winner at the death by foiling him at the far post.
Albion: Packham, Pethick, Harding, Crosby, Wicks, Melton, Wilkinson, Virgo (Hammond, 65), Marney, Lehmann (McPhee, 60), Pitcher.
Unused subs: Bryant, Beck, Hemsley.
