Worthing boss Sammy Donnelly has been assured that the latest cut to his budget will be the last.
Donnelly and his players had clear-the-air talks with Rebels' directors at Woodside Road last week.
Now all Donnelly wants to do is to try and improve their league position, starting with today's home game against Bishop's Stortford.
There could still be a couple of departures. Simon James is interesting a couple of clubs and Marc Rice has been linked with a move to a County League outfit as the squad is trimmed down from the 18 players Donnelly started the season with.
He said: "It's a smaller squad but I have been told there will be no more cuts so I think it's also a happier squad.
"The last three weeks have been very unsettling but everyone is pulling together now and we can concentrate on the football."
Donnelly played most of his first team in Tuesday's 4-1 win over Royal Engineers. The game was played to celebrate Worthing's centenary 93 years after the teams met in the quarter-finals of the old FA Amateur Cup in front of 4,500 fans which is still a ground record for Woodside Road.
A more modest turnout of 128 spectators saw Gavin Geddes mark his return from injury with two goals in a 4-1 win against a side containing several young players formerly with professional clubs.
Donnelly said: "It was a very good exercise. Gavin came back after his hamstring injury and we had Lee Weston back from his loan spell at Wick."
Gavin Jones missed out after the striker was hurt at work when a pallett fell on his head. Jones was a doubt for today's match. Rebels are at Bromley on Tuesday night.
Horsham boss John Maggs fears that former pro Jason Lillis will leave Queen Street.
Maggs is far from happy with the former Maidstone man's fitness levels and was planning to leave him out of this afternoon's FA Cup tie against Folkestone Invicta.
Steve Flain and youngster Jamie Taylor were set to get the nod up front with Marcel Dennis still on holiday.
Maggs said: "It could be a parting of the ways with Jason. He's tried, but he is not in the right physical shape and I don't imagine he will take too kindly to being dropped."
