The decision to award Brighton and Hove City Council the cleaning contract represents a step in the right direction.
Privatisation has proved a total disaster, leaving the city resembling a slum and morale among the workforce at an all-time low.
In Hove, when the borough council was in control, an excellent service was provided and relations between management and staff were exemplary. Hopefully, this latest decision heralds the dawn of a new era in which we can be proud of Brighton and Hove.
