I agree wholeheartedly with the comments of Brian Chatfield (Letters, October 11). He has put my sentiments into words exactly.
Where is the proud slogan of Brighton Health Care NHS Trust, "Putting patients first"?
Men these days work to the book, trying to achieve their figures, not only in the NHS but everywhere else.
There has been no thought at all given to the stress of patients, let alone the problem and cost of getting to Haywards Heath.
Previous patients know just how difficult it is to put on a brave face at these times. Added inconvenience is just not acceptable - I know from experience.
My husband and I considered moving from Brighton to a quieter location but I insisted we stayed here because of the faith I had in the cancer unit at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
We have read of financial difficulties at the Haywards Heath hospital. How can Brighton Health Care NHS Trust continue to attempt to move into further problems?
I am collecting signatures for The Argus campaign and hope there will be such an overwhelming response in Brighton and Hove to common sense and compassion that we will win.
