Rush-hour drivers faced delays and diversions last night after a car crash on a notoriously sharp bend.
The two-car smash happened on the A283 Washington to Steyning road at Washington, yards from the Franklands Arms.
Firefighters from Storrington attended the crash, which happened at about 6pm.
The occupants of the cars, including an elderly man, were able to get out unaided.
The road was closed in both directions for about an hour while debris was cleared off the tarmac.
Traffic travelling south along the A24 was diverted through Findon Valley on to the A27.
