Readers of The Argus seem very narrow-minded. It is not only people in Brighton and Hove who get breast cancer.
Public transport in Brighton is a lot better than in Uckfield. The last bus to Uckfield from Brighton is at 6pm and there are no trains. It is easier for us to get to Haywards Heath.
My sister has just been diagnosed with breast cancer and is being seen at Haywards Heath but when she has the treatment she has to travel to Brighton.
So she has the inconvenience of going to two hospitals and not being seen by the same doctor.
If the unit is going to bigger and better, what difference does it make where it is?
And saying people would be less likely to seek treatment because they have to travel is absolutely absurd.
If you had cancer and the only place for treatment was in Scotland, you would go. It may mean the difference between life and death.
