Albion chairman Dick Knight has given new boss Peter Taylor the all-clear to return to the England coaching set-up, providing it does not affect his job with the Seagulls.
Leicester allowed Taylor to take charge of the national team for the friendly against Italy in Turin 11 months ago and he stayed on board once Sven-Goran Eriksson became England coach.
Taylor relinquished his country role in the summer to concentrate on his club duties, but he is still highly thought of in FA circles.
Knight revealed: "Peter and I have discussed it. We wouldn't rule that out, as long as it didn't in any way interfere with his job here. It sounds amazing that a Brighton chairman should be talking about the prospect of his manager going to help England, but we all know that is a distinct possibility."
Taylor said: "I am absolutely delighted to be here and I have not given a thought to England at the moment. It was a nice experience at the time. To me it didn't get in the way. The problems I had at Leicester had nothing to do with that, but I understand results allowed people to suggest it was.
"If there was any way the FA wanted me to help and the chairman was happy with that and I was happy then that would be the case, but I am totally blinkered here. The aim is to get promotion."
