How nice to see the Dead End Kids again, supplied by Gordon Dean (Letters, September 24).

They were hilarious. Leo Gorcey used to be called Spit, for obvious reasons, and Huntz Hall was the Jewish boy - I'd love to see these films again.

Who could forget Boys Town, with Spencer Tracey, Micky Rooney and Pee-Wee, or Angels With Dirty Faces?

They're all grandfathers now, I expect. Films are just not the same these days.
