Work on a controversial traffic scheme begins on Monday and will continue until Christmas.
Road humps and speed cushions will be installed in Woodland Drive, Hove, between Dyke Road Avenue and Goldstone Crescent.
Further humps will be constructed at the junctions with Shirley Drive and Woodland Parade.
Sections of Woodland Drive will be closed for the work to take place safely. At times, the junctions with Shirley Drive and Woodland Parade will also be closed.
A diversion route will be used along Dyke Road Avenue, Dyke Road, Upper Drive, Old Shoreham Road and Goldstone Crescent.
Pedestrian access will not be affected and the city council said every effort would be made to minimise disruption.
Many people in Woodland Drive had asked the council for action to stop speeding drivers.
