A man has been arrested in connection with a Mid Sussex post office robbery.
The man in his 30s, from Horsham, was arrested in the town yesterday in connection with a raid at the sub-post office in Jengers Mead, Billingshurst, on Wednesday.
A man went into the post office brandishing a knife and demanded money.
He escaped empty-handed, but not before he had slashed a man with the blade and pushed a woman out of the way as escaped.
Both customers were taken to St Richards Hospital in Chichester.
The man underwent an operation and is expected to remain in hospital until the weekend. The woman was treated and released on Wednesday.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the robbery, which took place at about 10.30am.
Anyone with any information should contact Detective Constable Steve Pincott on 0845 6070999.
