Worthing coach Ian Davies is rugby mad. Just as well, given his current weekly schedule.
Davies took over at Roundstone Lane when Tim Mackew stepped down in the summer and has helped guide the side to the top of London Three South East.
He is also director of sports at UC Chichester, which means taking charge of their first team in the midweek university championship and the seconds in the Sussex League., Davies's rugby week kicks off with the university freshers on Sunday.
Monday means first team training at the university. He then organises the second team's workout on Tuesday before taking training at Worthing.
The students play on Wednesday, Worthing train on Thursday, then there is freshers training on Friday before matchday on Saturday.
Davies, whose contemporaries as a youngster in Llanelli included Scott Quinnell, admitted: "My girlfriend isn't very pleased about it.
"It has been going well so far. The college lost their first midweek match to Reading but we can bounce back from that."
Ben Coulson is Davies's assistant at Worthing while he recovers from a broken ankle.
But his input has been limited on Tuesdays because of teacher practice on the Isle of Wight.
Davies added: "The senior players are helping out a lot. We have given them more responsibility."
