I collected signatures in Churchill Square, Brighton, on a recent Saturday for the Nigel Porter Breast Care Unit to stay in Brighton.
I was absolutely disgusted at the reaction of some of the shoppers. Various excuses were: "Haven't got time" (but then promptly vanishing into a shop); "Got to get to the car"; and "Can't stop, I'm hungry".
I just hope these excuses don't bounce back and they find the unit isn't there. How feeble these reasons were.
