It's scarcely surprising so few people have attended open days at East Brighton College of Media Arts after the depressing history of this school over the last decade.
But parents in East Brighton should put aside their prejudices and take a closer look at the school which has changed.
If they pay a visit, they will find an orderly school where the pupils are polite and most of them are producing good work.
New principal Jill Clough has, with the help of staff and students, turned the school around. But it takes time for perceptions to get through to parents.
Falmer High School, which received an excellent report from inspectors this week, is further along the same road after problems in the past.
If, as seems likely, East Brighton can continue to make good progress, it should be able to follow Falmer's example.
