Hundreds of homes lost their power last night after an electricity supply fault.
A large area of Brighton was plunged into darkness for about ten minutes.
The Hollingbury and Fiveways areas were among the worst affected.
Power to hundreds of buildings, including the Asda store in Crowhurst Road, was cut off.
A Seeboard spokesman said: "Something must have touched one of the overhead cables, triggering a trip switch which then reset itself after a few minutes."
